As part of your Lenten
journey with the Lord, please consider those less fortunate by supporting the following
Outreach Commission Projects:
Monthly Food Drive for the Food Locker
The monthly Food Drive will
be held during Lent on the weekend of March 13/14. Items especially needed
include: canned soups, ravioli, chili, peanut butter, oatmeal and boxed
cereals. Please pray in earnest for those in need of this food and assistance.
Annual Paper and Plastics Drive For
Opportunity House
The
weekend of March 20/21, we will hold our annual Paper and Plastic Supplies
Drive at all Masses for the Opportunity House Homeless Shelter. Please “stock
up” while doing your shopping in the next weeks to prepare for this drive. Paper
and plastic products needed include: toilet paper, paper towels, plastic “food
handling” gloves, plastic food wrap, Ziploc Bags (freezer storage bags and
sandwich bags), 13 gallon kitchen garbage bags and “Hefty” Lawn and Leaf Bags.
Please pray for the homeless and those who assist them.
Food Collection— Monthly canned food collections for the poor and hungry of our community are held on the 2nd weekend of the month at all Masses. The collected food is transported to St. Mary’s Food Locker for distribution to those in need. Food items especially needed include: boxed cereals, individual packaged oatmeal, 16 oz. peanut butter, “meal in a can” canned goods such as canned chili, ravioli, or soups. No glass containers. May we be ever mindful and prayerful concerning the needs of the hungry and the less fortunate of our community.
Transportation Ministry - If you would like to participate in our Transportation Ministry and drive someone to church, please contact the Parish Office at 447-2354. We need drivers for All Masses. Thanks for your support.
Lifeline Ministry - Losing a job, the loss of a loved one or family struggles can be overwhelming for many of us. Sometimes talking about our difficulties can ease our troubles and help us move beyond our pain or relieve our stress. We at the Lifeline Ministry can help you during this difficult time. We offer one-on-one confidential meetings with you which are a free service offered through the parish. Please contact the Lifeline Ministry at (707) 447-2354.
